Tanana Tournament Update
The Tanana Invitational wrestling tournament was held March 1 & 2, 2019 in Fairbanks, AK. We had 9 Alaska Battle Cat wrestlers in attendance and they all did great! Z. Priebe placed 1st for the 160lb boys bracket, A. Green placed 3rd and J. Lim placed 7th for the 114lb boys bracket. For two of our Battle Cats, E. & B. Killian, this was their very first tournament and they both showed courage and team spirit! R. Tsukada, T. Whitt, R. Coker and A. Covey all wrestled with tenacity. It will be fun to watch these wrestlers develop their individual styles as they progress within the sport. Wrestling is a high-intensity and emotional sport, and we are very proud that each of our participants were respectful and courteous both on and off the mats during this two-day tournament. We'd also like to say a BIG THANK YOU, to our supporting coaches, Pounds and Blackburn. Your support is priceless.
Get Air!
On Feb 18, 2019 ABC sponsored some jump time at Get Air in South Anchorage for the wrestlers. They had a great time. The event provided a safe and fun atmosphere for the wrestlers to connect off the mats.
